Offered is a fascinating collection featuring two ticket stubs from Elvis Presleys concert on August 3, 1956, at Miami's Olympia Theatre and the contents of her period Elvis scrapbook. The material comes from a young fan named Sherry who saw Elvis Presley perform twice in Florida in the summer of 1956. The second time was in Tampa...as his guest!

The story is told in the accompanying letter from the daughter of the fan. Sherry and a friend had gone to the Miami concert and were lucky enough to meet Elvis backstage. The letter reads in part:

This collection contains 2 ticket stubs from [Elvis'] concert in Miami, FL on Aug. 3, 1956. Where after the concert he invited my mom and her girlfriend to continue on with him to his next venue in Tampa, FL. They went on with him to Tampa without permission of their parents, and my Grandmother [Sherry's mother], who worked for the Miami Dade Police Department at the time, had a police escort follow Elvis to Tampa and explain that my mother was only 16 years old and unable to continue on any more travels with Elvis without a chaperone. Elvis was kind enough to invite my mom and grandmother to attend the Tampa concert as his guests and put my mom and my grandmother up in the 'Hotel Tampa Terrace' and the paid hotel bill is in this collection. Elvis had invited my mom and my grandmother to go to Miss. to meet his mom but they were unable to go due to my grandmother's work commitments. So this ended my mom's travels with Elvis in 1956.

Incredible. Oh to be a fly on the wall as Elvis is speaking with the Miami police and the mother of his new 16 year old friend whom he just transported across the state!!

The collection includes:

  • Two oversized ticket stubs to Elvis Presley matinee concert on August 3, 1956, at Miami's Olympia Theatre;
  • Hotel Tampa Terrace guest bill for "Page, Sherry & Mother" from August 5-August 6, 1956, stamped "PAID";
  • Hotel Tampa Terrace postcards (2) and matchbook;
  • Modern reprint photo of Sherry Page and Elvis taken during the trip (note the "horseshoe" ring he's wearing and the cigar in his hand-Colonel would be furious!);
  • 1956 color 5x7 souvenir photo;
  • 1956 Elvis Souvenir Photo Album;
  • 1956 group of three paper promo photos from Love Me Tender;
  • 23 Newspaper clippings including reviews of concerts and advertisements for the shows as well stories about fans and the hysteria and even June Juanico being Elvis' girlfriend...or not!

The material presents with moderate wear from handling, but all souvenir items are intact. Excellent condition overall, with some lesser.
