Offered is a 1956 "Wide World Photos" original wire photo of Elvis Presley and Natalie Wood in Memphis from November 2 of that year. The wire service's stamping on the back dates this photo to the period. Natalie and Elvis had a famous, torrid affair that burned bright that fall, but alas, was not meant to last. The caption of the photo reads: "MEMPHIS, TENN, Nov. 2--Starlet Visits Presley--Hollywood starlet Natalie Wood joined Rock 'n' Roll singer Elvis Presley in tour of Memphis after she flew in from West Coast Wednesday. Pair met while he was making first movie. (AP WIREPHOTO) 1956." The photo measures 8 x 10 inches and presents with expected newsroom markings, though very few of them, and one area of paper loss on the right edge. Excellent condition.
