Offered is a copy of Elvis Presley's 1956 EP "Elvis Presley "Perfect for Parties" Highlight Album" with original sleeve—this copy has the “white line” variation of the RCA labels on both sides. Matrix numbers indicate this is a Rockaway pressing from the initial run in November 1956. This late-1956 promotional release was part of the marketing barrage RCA waged for Elvis Presley, their newest, brightest star. The album was thought to only have been a giveaway with RCA record players, but period advertisements indicate it was also available via mail order. The record's tracks are a snapshot of RCA's wide variety of artists in the period: Side 1: "Love Me" Elvis Presley; "Anchors Aweigh" Tony Cabot and his Orchestra; "That's a Puente" Tito Puente; Side 2: "Rock Me But Don't Really Roll Me" Tony Scott; "Happy Face Baby" The Three Sons; "Prom to Prom" Dave Pell. The original EP sleeve's reverse quoted Elvis as claiming "I'm crazy about these albums...they're really 'Perfect for Parties.'" See what they did there? The record starts with an actual introduction from Elvis: "Hello everybody. This is Elvis inviting you to sample some of the tunes from RCA Victor's wonderful 'Perfect for Parties' albums." He proceeds to introduce every song with a little editorial about the song, artist and/or album. The sleeve is VERY CLEAN Near Mint condition. The vinyl presents with only very minor scuffing. Very Good.
