The offered "3-combo" "International News Photos" original news service photograph features three shots of Elvis Presley from his final appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on January 6, 1957. "What the TV camera didn't show" starts the still-attached paper caption. It continues "Gyrating Elvis Presley rocked 'n rolled as usual in his final appearance on Ed Sullivan's TV show tonight. But home viewers saw him only from the waist up. These photos show the irrepressible 'Hound Dog' starting a number in the conventional manner, then he starts tapping, and finally letting loose with those spinal pivots. Screaming teeners in the studio left no doubt that Elvis was all there. BUt all TV's audience saw was chest and sideburns. 1-6-57" The "Internatianal Press Photos" and Central Press Association" stamps are on the reverse, as well as the date stamp "JAN 6 1957." An incredible historic moment caught on a very unusual period news service photograph. The photo measures 6 3/4 x 10 inches and presents with minor wear from handling, but still is arguably Near Mint.
