The offered poster, featuring Elvis Presley among a group of 12 recording stars with hits in 1956-57, would have been slipped into the front window of an Exhibit Supply vending machine that dispensed exhibit cards for 1¢. Promotional posters featuring Elvis from this period are exceedingly rare. The paper images are mounted on one large piece of paper with “RECORDING ARTISTS” printed across the top. These are the same images on the cards that fans could purchase for 1¢. The other stars featured are Dinah Shore, Patti Page, Tab Hunter, Doris Day, The De Castro Sisters, Pat Boone, The Four Lads, Peggy Lee, Pearl Bailey, The Platters and Perry Como. The Exhibit Supply Co. was one of the largest producers of sports and non-sports cards during the 20th century. Their first baseball series appeared in 1921 and their final massive push was a set that first appeared in 1947 with final subjects coming in 1966. The poster measures 12 ½ x 18 ½ inches and presents with edge wear, one small tear on the left edge and some toning. Excellent to Mint condition.
