Offered is a 1958 Associated Press original news service Photo of Elvis Presley signing autographs as prepares to depart for Germany and his Army service. The original clipping on the back of the photo indicates the photo was used on September 23, 1958, in The New York Journal American, and its caption reads "NEW YORK--Army Pvt. Elvis Presley, the rock 'n' roll king turned GI, is beseiged [sic] by autograph fans as the singer prepares to sail from Brooklyn Army base for duty overseas...Note sailor among Elvis' fans." The photo measures 7 x 7 3/4 inches and presents with expected newsroom editorial notations. Near Mint condition.
