"NOT FOR OURSELVES ALONE BUT FOR THE WHOLE WORLD." That's the prescient, latin invocation printed on the bottom of the cover of this 1959 Liverpool Institute High School “Green Book,” which lists a 17-year old Paul McCartney twice inside. The book is a listing of all the students, faculty and staff at the Liverpool high school attended by the young Beatle-to-be. And while "David A. Watt," whose name is written in the front, didn't think Paul's name rated underlining in the book like the rest of his friends, Paul does appear twice--once among his classmates as "McCartney, P. M." on page 45 and again under the "SPECIAL PRIZES" listing for his "Prize for Art" as "J. P. McCartney" on page 12. It's amazing to consider that by the time this book is printed Paul has already been a member of the Quarrymen for the better part of two years, and the band, consisting of Paul, John Lennon and George Harrison, had recently changed their name to Johnny and the Moondogs. The diminutive tome measures 3 x 4 1/4 inches and presents in heavily worn condition, but is intact. Very Good to Excellent condition.
