Offered is a wonderful artifact from Elvis Presley's home--a large hand-crocheted afghan with "Presley" prominently spelled out below a Presley family crest. The crest includes images of tigers, Elvis' karate name. The afghan came from Elvis' Beverly Hills home on Monovale Drive where it was draped over his couch. It was part of the legendary Jimmy Velvet Collection and was featured as lot "555" in the June 1994 auction of "The Elvis Presley Museum Collection" (see 1994 catalog images at left). Velvet acquired this piece direclty from Linda Thompson's parents in 1979. The accompanying letter on "Elvis Presley Museum" letterhead is signed by Mr. Thompson and his wife and lists the afghan among other items. It reads in part: "We have on this day given, as a gift, property of Elvis Presley. These things were all given to us by Elvis." It lists the afghan as "Family Crest - Hand Crochet with 'Presley' on it used in Elvis' Home over couch."

Personal items such as this are extremely special in the Elvis collecting world, and rarely have we seen a piece with such an intimate connection to Elvis and his family. The afghan measures 50 x 60 inches and presents almost PERFECTLY PRESERVED in Near Mint to Mint condition.
