Offered is a group of seven "ceiling hangers" cut out from the covers of Elvis Presley's 1963 LP Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 3 that were sent by Colonel Parker to a family member of his right-hand man, Tom Diskin, in the 1960s. The album was released on August 12, 1963, during the filming at MGM Studios of Viva Las Vegas. The circular pieces have been hole-punched for hanging, and the center piece has "ELVIS PRESLEY" green ID tape added to it. Each one shows remnants of tape on the reverse, indicating they may have been taped up for display. During Elvis' film career, Colonel Parker always adorned his offices at the film studios with Elvis promotional items, movie posters and RCA record promotional items. It is likely this group of cutouts was hanging in his MGM office during the filming of Viva Las Vegas during July and August 1963, just when the new album was being promoted and released. The circles of the album covers are hand cut and present with various distresses front and back, but are intact. Excellent condtion overall.
Emanating from the collection of a Tom Diskin Family Member.
