Offered is a large poster created to promote Elvis Presley's 1968 NBC television special simply titled Elvis but popularly dubbed the “’68 Comeback Special,” which originally aired on NBC on December 3, 1968, shortly after RCA released the album of the same name in November 1968. This poster advertises the August 17, 1969 re-broadcast on NBC. The broadcast of this special was sponsored by the Singer Company and ranked as the top-rated television special of 1968, making the re-airing a no-brainer. As the sponsor, the Singer Company, which was known for its manufacturing of sewing machines, was prominently featured in all of the promotion and marketing materials for this television special, which was later credited for revitalizing Elvis’ career. The offered oversized poster was one of the largest of the bright yellow and red themed promotional pieces produced for use in Singer stores and other retail locations that carried their products. The poster measures 28 x 14 inches and presents with its original factory fold and just a few minor spots of wear on the extreme edges. Near Mint condition.
