Offered is a New York State Police badge presented to Elvis Presley during his historic concerts at Madison Square Garden in June 1972. The badge reads "Hon. Superintendent" badge with "E.A.P." at the top, and on the reverse is engraved "PRESENTED TO ELVIS PRESLEY FROM WILLIAM KIRWAN JUNE 1972." Kirwan was the Superintendent of the New York State Police in the period. The badge was part of the collection of noted badge collector Mark Pyne, and his signed letter attesting to its authenticity accompanies. Additionally, the badge comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Elvis Presley Museum signed by Jimmy Velvet. The badge measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches and presents with minor tarnishing on the reverse. Near Mint condition.
