Offered is a possibly unique 1973 "Elvis on Tour / Aloha from Hawaii" backstage pass. The bold image of Elvis Presley stares at us from the front of this large pass, produced for the Hawaiian concerts that would become his groundbreaking TV special, Elvis Aloha from Hawaii. Fans from around the globe watched as the singing phenomenon from Memphis known the world over as Elvis took the stage at the Honolulu International Center on January 14, 1973 and said “Aloha” to the world. This famed concert aired via satellite in over 40 countries in Europe and Asia (airing at a later date in the U.S.) and was not only the most expensive entertainment special of its time, costing approximately $2.5 million to produce, but also one of Elvis’ most triumphant moments on stage. Elvis also played a "warmup" show on January 12 at the venue.
On the back of the pass, the imprint of "FASSON" can be faintly seen--this is the same company name on the back of the round canvas backstage passes employed by Elvis in the period.
We have never seen another example of this prototype backstage pass. The pass measures 4 1/4 inches in diameter and presents with its original adhesive back intact in well-preserved Near Mint condition.
