The offered hanging advertisement promotes Elvis’ album Promised Land on one side and promotes earlier albums on the reverse. “Promised Land” was first recorded by Chuck Berry in 1965 and then by Elvis in December of 1973 in the Stax Records studio in Memphis. This title track was first released as a single in September 1974 and after chart success, an album with 10 tracks was released on January 8, 1975, Elvis’ 40th birthday. The graphic motif is true ’70s—the four lobes of the hanging advertisement are edged in blue, green and yellow on both sides, with bold black lettering shouting “Elvis! Elvis! Elvis” above images of Elvis singing in his American eagle jumpsuit with red lei adorning his neck that flank the album or albums (depending on the side) in the center. The front markets the Promised Land album and the reverse promotes Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite, Elvis Recorded Live on Stage in Memphis, and Having Fun With Elvis on Stage as also available from RCA Records and Tapes. This hanging record store promotional sign measures 17 7/8 by 23 13/16 inches and presents with one small tack hole at the bottom and a very small tape stain, Near Mint condition.
