Offered is a lock of Elvis Presley's hair from his personal Memphis hairdresser Homer "Gill" Gilleland. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Homer would sell these small cards with several pieces of Elvis' hair tape to them to fans in Memphis. The card reads:

This card contains a lock of hair from the King of Rock and Roll as cut by Mr. Gil of Memphis, TN, memories of which, in future years, yours they will always be. ELVIS 1935-1977.

During Elvis’ career, it was nothing for him to pick up the phone and ask Gill to hop on a plane to come to Graceland, Hollywood, Las Vegas, or wherever he might be to do Elvis’ hair. Gill was the recipient of many gifts over the years, such as jewelry, cars, and even a house. He famously started keeping the clippings from Elvis' haircuts, amassing quite an amount by the time of Elvis' passing. Also included is a copy of a bill of sale that Gill used to provide when he sold some of the cards. The card measures 3 1/2 x 2 inches and presents with some scuffing on the right side. Excellent condition.
