Offered is a group of signatures from the four members of The Rutles, including Eric Idle, Neil Innes, Ricky Fataar and John Halsey. Three were acquired at a hotel, as they are all on matching Marriott Hotels memo pad sheets. Eric Idle is on a blue notecard. idle and Halsey have signed their names, while Neil Innes wrote "Sod off Ron Nasty! Lots of Love, Neil Innes," and Ricky Fataar wrote "Ricky Fataar A.K.A. Stig O'Hara." The Rutles are a fictional band created by Monty Python's Eric Idle and Neil Innes in 1975 for British TV. The band was a send up of The Beatles, and their parodies mimicked songs, movies, incidents and lives of The Beatles. The Rutles started on the BBC show Rutland Weekend Television, and they appeared on Saturday Night Live twice in the mid-1970s. The "band" has released a number of albums and singles over the years, and the 1978 television mockumentary All You Need is Cash. While initially cooly received by Paul (Linda convinced him it was funny), Lennon was cool with the silliness of it all, and Ringo and George were fans from the start. The group of signatures is accompanied by an auction letter from Beckett Authentic. The memo pad sheets smeaure 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and the blue notecard measures 6 x 4 inches. All are in clean, Near Mint to Mint condition.
