Offered is a British Phonographic Industry (BPI) Gold Record Award for Robert Cray's 1986 LP Strong Persuader. The album was released in November 1986 and was certified Gold by the RIAA in the US by just March 1987. BPI is the British recorded music industry's Trade association, and it awards UK music sales awards through the BRIT Certified Awards, the British version of RIAA awards. The offered award, given to an industry marketing executive involved in the promotion of the LP, has a plaque that reads "Presented to Polygram Inc. to recognise sales in the United Kingdom of more than 100,000 copies of the Mercury album 'Strong Persuader' 1987." The award measures 17 x 21 inches with wear to the gold metal frame. Excellent condition.
