The offered RIAA Gold Record Award is for Elvis Presley's single “Wear My Ring Around Your Neck,” which was released on April 7, 1958. While the song topped the R & B charts and topped out at a respectable #2 on the Pop charts, it ended a streak of 10 straight #1 singles from Elvis. He returned to #1 with his very next single, “Hard Headed Woman.” The single was recorded at Radio Recorders Hollywood Studios in March 1958, along with its b-side “Doncha' Think It's Time.” The song was certified gold on August 3, 1983, and the award comes from that period. The award's plaque reads “Presented to Elvis Presley to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the RCA Records Single Record 'Wear My Ring Around My Neck.'” The award measures 13 x 17 inches and presents with only very minor wear to the wooden frame. Near Mint condition.
