Offered is a impressive and gorgeous diamond and sapphire ring give by Elvis Presley to his fiancee, Ginger Alden. Ginger was the final love of Elvis' life--the two were engaged just eight weeks after meeting in November 1976. The offered ring was a gift Elvis presented to Ginger in his Las Vegas Hilton suite during his December 1976 concerts, which would be his last at the hotel. The ring can be described as a very early example of a "ballerina" style design-a style in its infancy when the ring was created, most-likely in the 1950s. When observing the ring on a finger, one can picture the dancer from above with her dress flowing as she circles. The ring emanates directly from Ginger, and her accompanying LOA states:
This large diamond and sapphire cocktail ring was picked out by Elvis Presley and personally gifted to me in December of 1976. We were inside the bedroom of his penthouse suite at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel during what would be his last performances in Las Vegas. I thanked Elvis, telling him I wasn't really a jewelry person. His response, " You'll learn to like it". Sincerely, Ginger Alden
We're fairly certain he was right since Ginger has kept the ring for nearly 50 years! The center stone is approx. .44 ct, and it is surrounded by nine marquise cut sapphires with a weight of approx. 1.2 ct. Around these are another 20 diamonds with a weight of approx. 1.7 ct. The size 6 ring weighs 7.18 grams and presents in stunning Near Mint condition. As with the stunning diamond and emerald necklace also offered in this auction, there are few chances to acquire an item Elvis gave to the last woman he loved.
