"Let's Lick Polio!' Not sure that slogan would fly in our cynical 21st century culture, but it was quite a successful campaign during the 1950s. The offered original news service photo shows Elvis Presley lending a hand to get the word out with a couple of young members of the Memphis chapter of "Teens Against Polio." The newsroom notations on the reverse repeat a couple of times, indicating it was used more than once for publication. “Elvis Presley Paul Davis & Harriet Sikes 1/11/57” and “Let's Lick Polio” appear on the reverse. The photo measures 8 x 10 inches. It exhibits expected wear from newsroom use, edgewear with creases and small areas of chipping with some staining and toning on the reverse. Excellent to Mint condition.
