Elvis Presley's love and fascination with firearms is legendary, and he owned 100s of guns during his lifetime. When he discovered the offered "machine gun" ring he must have been tickled by its diminutive representation of the powerful weapon. He eventually gifted the ring to his Las Vegas physician Dr. Elias Ghanem. Elvis regularly stayed at Ghanem's home while in Las Vegas in the mid to late 1970s. the ring is accompanied by the two page "Letter of Authenticity" signed by the Dr. Ghanem's wife Jody Ghanem. The October 25, 2016, letter reads:
This 14K ring made into the shape of a machine gun was given to Dr. Elias Ghanem by entertainer, Elvis Presley. Elvis would often stay at Dr. Ghanem's home located at 2981 Bel Air Dr. inside the gated community of the Las Vegas Country Club which is directly behind the Las Vegas Hilton. This 14K ring has 4/71 engraved on the inside and is one of the items that Elvis gave to Elias during the mid to late 70's. The ring was left to me by my husband Dr. Elias Ghanem after his untimely passing on August 27, 2001 at the age of 62.
The second page lists all the items left to the good Dr. by Elvis, including the offered ring, listed as "14K Machine gun ring date stamped inside 4/71."
The size 9 1/4 ring weighs 5 grams and is stamped on the interior of the band "417" with one more character or letter worn away (it is our opinion these numbers were misread by Mrs. Ghanem). The ring shows signs of moderate use. Near Mint condition.
