Elvis Presley Owned Copy of Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East Former Mike Moon Collection

Offered is Elvis Presley's personal copy of the 1948 hardback book Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East, Volume IV. Ever the seeker, Elvis had a large library of books concerning religion, numerology and any number of various tomes about spirituality of almost every stripe. Interestingly, one of the few markings in the book is an underlined passage in Chapter XIII (The Quantum Theory) which reads "Every form has within itself some degree of energy and this energy is a distinct emanation of the energy that fills infinite space." Heady stuff, indeed, but Elvis was always looking for the meaning of things, in his world and in himself. The notion of the energy from within being the same energy that comes from the universe would have made a lot of sense to the world's greatest entertainer. The book was purchased by Mike Moon at the famous 1980 Don B. Smith auction of Elvis' Beverly Hills home. The book remained in Moon's Elvis Museum for more than 30 years. A "Statement of Authenticity" signed by Moon when he sold the book is included, as well as a photocopy of the original Don B. Smith auction catalog. The book measures 5 3/8 x 7 3/4 inches and presents with moderate wear from use, but no damage. Near Mint condition.
