Offered is a custom black three-piece tuxedo made for Elvis’ role in his 1969 film The Trouble with Girls. While Elvis wears a similar suit on the big screen in this movie, the offered suit was created for, but not worn by, Elvis during the shooting. The suit first appears in a 1981 "West Coast Movie Memorabilia Auction," where it was mis-identified as being from another of Elvis' films. This three-piece tuxedo contains a white and green MGM Studio label on the interior pocket of the jacket with the handwritten name “E Presley” and the production number “1875.” The suit comes with a letter from “EP Archives” of Las Vegas, Nevada that states, in part:

This three-piece dark blue tuxedo with black trim was designed for Elvis Presley to be worn in his film, The Trouble with Girls. This custom tuxedo was not worn by Elvis Presley in the actual MGM film. This outfit was made at MGM wardrobe with Elvis Presley’s name and the production #1875. This is the correct production number for this film as verified by the promo photos issued by MGM which have the production number handwritten in the corners.

The movie piece worn by Elvis Presley was purchased in 1981 at West Coast Movie Memorabilia Auction II held at the Ebell Women’s Club in coordination with The Berry Auction company in Los Angeles, CA. This wardrobe was misidentified as being from the 1967 Elvis Presley film Double Trouble, but was actually from the 1969 Elvis Presley film, Trouble with Girls.

The letter goes on to indicate that the suit was purchased by EP Archives along with many other items from the Mike Moon collection in 2018. After Mike Moon had purchased the suit at the 1981 auction, the suit had remained in his collection for more than 35 years. Mike Moon owned his "Elvis Museum" in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (and other locations) from 1981 to 2016. A Certificate of Authenticity from Mike L. Moon Investments, Inc. accompanies the suit.

Also included with the tuxedo are photocopies of the title page and interior page showing the suit in the 1981 “West Coast Movie Memorabilia Auction II” and studio-issued promotional photos (2) of Elvis wearing a similar suit in the film. The tuxedo is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated. The suit presents with minimal wear and no significant defects. Excellent to Mint condition overall.
