Offered is a set of three decorative mirrors displayed on the walls of Elvis Presley's dining room at Graceland. The sticker on the reverse of the largest indicates they were "MADE IN ITALY". The interior of Graceland was an evolving design project for Elvis, Priscilla and the other women in his life. It was quite common for pieces like these, when they were being replaced by something else, to be given to Graceland cook and maid Nancy Rooks. Thankfully, Nancy stored the mirrors in paper wrapping on which she wrote “Dining Room on the Wall.” This is very nice provenance in Nancy's hand!

Nancy worked as a maid and cook for Elvis Presley at Graceland from 1967 to 1977, and stayed on to work for the family until 1982. She treasured her time working for Elvis and the Presley family, and always enjoyed sharing her memories with fans over the years. She made countless meals for Elvis, including his peanut butter and banana sandwiches. As a member of the Graceland family, Nancy was given any number of household items, decorative pieces or keepsakes that Elvis, Vernon, Elvis' grandmother Minnie Mae or Elvis' Aunt Delta wanted her to have. Sadly, Nancy passed just this past August 15, during The annual "Elvis Week" celebrations in Memphis. The items offered in this auction emanate directly from Nancy's estate and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from her family.

The larger mirror measures 8 ½ x 6 ½ inches, and the smaller mirrors measure 6 x 4 inches. They show moderate to heavy wear from use. Excellent condition.
