Offered is Elvis Presley's silver and turquoise ankh necklace with a large lightning bolt design made by Mike McGregor. Elvis gave the necklace to J.D. Sumner, among many other gifts. The necklace was eventually sold to Mike Moon where it became part of his Elvis Museum in Pidgeon Forge, Tennessee for more than 35 years.

Mike McGregor worked for Elvis initially on his ranch, The Circle G, in the late 1960s, and eventually moved onto the property at Graceland where his duties expanded to leatherwork and creating jewelry. Of the many pieces he made for Elvis, the offered necklace is an extremely impressive creation. The ancient ankh symbol has been embellished with a large turquoise stone, one of Elvis' favorite precious stones, and most importantly with a large lightning bolt image in the center. On the reverse McGregor's trademark "MM" maker's mark can be seen near the bottom.

An incredibly special aspect of this offering is the inclusion of a sketch of Mike's original design for this necklace that was found in the files of Kim Taylor, who worked with Mike in his jewelry business. Taylor's signed letter accompanies. Also included is a certified copy of the bill of sale between J.D. Sumner and Mike Moon from May of 1980 as well as a signed Statement of authenticity from Mike Moon.

The large silver pendant measures 3 x 2 1/2 inches, and the chain measures 28 inches in length. The pendant shows signs of wear from use. Near Mint condition.
