The offered faux tortoise shell sunglasses were owned by Elvis Presley in 1976--later Elvis gifted them to his cousin Billy Smith. Billy's signed letter accompanies and reads "This pair of sunglasses were worn by Elvis Presley for a short period of time in 1976 while he was waiting for some custom made sunglasses." Additionally, a copy of the "Bill of Sale" from August 17, 1981, when Billy sold these sunglasses and several other Elvis-owned items to Mike Moon is also included. The glasses remained at Mike Moon's Elvis Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for more more than 35 years.

Elvis was famous for his love of sunglasses, and he had many, many pairs, a good number of which were custom made--some with "TCB" on the lenses, some with "EP" in the bridge, and many had prescription lenses. But he also had a good number of retail sunglasses in a myriad of styles. The offered sunglasses, with somewhat oversized lenses, present with "Made in Japan" partially worn off the inside of one of the arms. The sunglasses measure 5 7/8 x 2 3/8 inches and present with only minimal wear. Near Mint condition.
