Offered is Elvis Presley's button down shirt worn while horseback riding and working at his ranch The Circle G, in Mississippi. The shirt was given by Elvis to Memphis Mafia member, and best man at his wedding, Mary Lacker. Marty sold the shirt, among a number of items that Elvis had given him, to noted collector Mike Moon on July 24, 1983, and a copy of the original bill of sale is included. The shirt was one of several sold to Moon at that time, and listed on the handwritten document as "9. Western shirts-Worn by Elvis at ranch in Mississippi while riding horses, etc. Sometimes he wore 2 or 3 shirts at a time in late 1966." Most of Mike Moon's collection from his Elvis museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, was sold to Chris Davidson in 2018, and a letter from Davidson also accompanies.
The size "L" shirt was made by "Allen Solley", and the original tagging is still in the collar. The shirts presents with heavy discoloration, some of which may be from the period of use by Elvis, but some of the fading is certainly from poor lighting control while in Moon's museum for nearly 40 years. Excellent condition.
