Offered is a sharply designed sport coat owned by Elvis Presley which he bought at his favorite Memphis clothier, Lansky Brothers. The coat was offered in the famous 1995 auction of the Jimmy Velvet Elvis Presley Museum collection. Jimmy was one of the earliest serious collectors of Elvis' artifacts, and started buying up everything Elvis' friends and family were willing to part with before just about anyone. His efforts have saved countless pieces like the offered sport coat for posterity, and collectors! The coat is accompanied by an “Elvis Presley Museum” Certificate of Authenticity that reads: “Elvis Presley Personal Sport Coat. This brown and beige checked polyester sports coat was purchased by Elvis from the Lansky Bros. Men's Store on Beale Street in Memphis Tenessee for his personal use.” The jacket's main tag reads: “Custom Designed by Jules de Bergerac for Lansky Brothers Memphis,” right above its “Made in Canada” tag. On the interior of the inner breast pocket is written “Elvis Presley” on the union label. The jacket still maintains its original 1995 lot tag from the sale of Jimmy Velvet's collection at Butterfield & Butterfield. The jacket has a small tear to the inner lining, but is otherwise in great shape. Excellent to Mint condition.
