Click play at right to see the Graceland Youtube video featuring an exact match for the hat offered here.

Offered is one of the coolest hats Elvis Presley ever owned, and certainly one of the coolest to ever be available to collectors! The offered "Lansky Bros." "Superfly" style light brown velour hat was given by Elvis to J.D. Sumner, lead singer of The Stamps Quartette and dear friend. The hat is an exact match to a hat in The Graceland Archives--that hat was featured in an episode of Graceland's Youtube series Inside the Archives. (©2020 Elvis Presley Enterprises - shown only for research purposes.)

Accompanied by a certified copy of the May 1, 1980, “Bill of Sale” between J.D. Sumner and Mike Moon, listing the hat as: “one light-brown genuine velour hat size 7 3/8 manufactured by De Sind and sold by Lansky Brothers, Beatl and Second Street, Memphis, Tennessee.” Also included is a modern print of a photo of the hat on display at Mike Moon's museum, where it resided for nearly 40 years, and a modern print of a photo of Elvis wearing a this style of hat. The hat still maintains it's original "HAND BLOCKED 7 3-8" size tag, as well as the gold embossed "Lansky Bros. Cor. Beale and Second Memphis, Tenn." The hat was made by "De Sind New York" whose logo appears on the hat's lining. The hat measures nealy 15 inches in diameter and presents with very little wear. Near Mint condition.
