The offered second generation Associated Press Syndicate new service photo captures Elvis Presley returning from his military service in 1960. The photo was published on March 8, 1960, based on the newsroom markings on the reverse of the photo, which also maintains an original clipping. The caption reads "OUR BOY ELVIS. Sgt. Elvis Presley pleases frenzied fans by holding their hands through an iron bar fence on his arrival by train in Memphis. Before the rock 'n roll singer  got off the train, the crowd began to chant 'We want Elvis.' Screams mounted as Elvis approached the fence. he then was driven to his mansion just south of Memphis in a city police car." "ELVIS PRESLEY" is written in grease pencil below the clipping. The photo measures 8 x 8 1/4 inches and presents with the aforementioned newsroom markings and some general waviness. Excellent to Mint condition.
