Offered is an Elvis Presley signed permission slip given to long-time Presley family friend, Janelle McComb. Janelle was always finding ways to support Elvis' career, and during one trip to Las Vegas she asked him if she could work on an article about some element of his life. Elvis was always accomodating to Janelle, and of course agreed. But to be sure she scribbled a makeshift contract and had Elvis sign it. It reads: You have my permission to do a story. Elvis Presley." The agreement is accompanied by a photo from Janelle of her and Elvis.
Janelle McComb lived in Tupelo, Mississippi, where Elvis was born, and was a life-long friend of the Presley family, having known Elvis since he was a mere child. So close was Janelle McComb to the Presleys that she became the longtime director of the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation and wrote the poems that appear on Elvis’ epitaph and the Eternal Flame. She often wrote poetry for Elvis to give as gifts to his family and poetry for Elvis himself, and even created elaborate photographic artworks that graced the walls at Graceland.
Accompanied by LOA from Beckett Authentic. The sheet meaures 8 1/2 x 4 inches and presents with original folds and rougly torn edges. Excellent to Mint condition.
