Offered is an incredible Elvis Presley owned suede coat from "Mr. Playboy" with large, 2-inch monogrammed "EP" inside the collar. Elvis eventually gave this jacket to Mike McGregor. Mike worked for Elvis for a number of years, first at his ranch in Mississippi, The Circle G, and then later at Graceland. Mike lived on the property at Graceland and was an expert leather maker, producing many items for Elvis including gun holsters, saddles for the horses, etc. His included letter on "TCB" letterhead reads "I, Mike McGregor, was employed by Elvis Presley from 1967-76. Taking care of his horses was one of my many duties for Elvis. This navy suede coat with fur trim and label reading Mr. Playboy and with Elvis' initials was worn by Elvis in the early 1970's and given to me by him."
The jacket is preserved in very supple condition, with intact faux fur colar and large rolled leather buttons. The fringe design across the chest and details on the leather pockets and cuffs are inspired by Native American designs. The jacket's superior condition is likely due to Mike McGregor not thinking he could pull off Elvis' look! Good for us! Excellent to Mint condition.
Please Note: Also offered in this auction is a June Kelly print that hung in the Graceland offices that Elvis signed and presented to Mike McGregor and his family!
