Offered are two Elvis Presley karate patches acquired from his uncle Vestor Presley. The larger is a "Kenpo Karate" patch featuring a tiger and a dragon (as all good karate patches should), and the round one features Elvis' signature "TCB" logo surrounded by "FAITH, SPIRIT DISCIPLINE". The patches were acquired by noted collector Jim Crowell directly from Elvis' uncle Vester, and Crowell's signed letter of authenticity accompanies.
Karate was an important part of Elvis Presley’s life in the early ‘70s and Ed Parker was an instrumental friend and teacher to Elvis in this art. Ed Parker founded American Kenpo karate based on the original art that he learned in Hawaii. The art is primarily a form of combat self-defense maneuvers, typically using circular motions, that results in a never-ending series of strikes to your opponent. After Ed Parker’s students began teaching his version of Kenpo in other countries, the International Kenpo Karate Association was formed. The Kenpo patch measures 5 x 6 1/4 inches and presents it some staining on the right side. Excellent condition. The TCB patch is 3 1/4 inches in diameter and presents with no wear. Near Mint condition.
