Offered is a nice group of photos of Elvis Presley performing during the earliest period of his career, in 1955 or 1956, though they were printed at a later date. Seven of the photos are of Elvis and the boys on stage, while three capture Elvis backstage. Based on the guitars used by Elvis and Scotty, these photos were taken between July 1955 and Late 1956. While Elvis is seen playing his 1955 Martin D-28 with the custom leather cover, which he started using as early as June of 1955, Scotty Moore is playing his 1954 Gibson L5, which he didn't start using until July of 1955. Elvis started using another guitar by fall of 1956, making that the latest these shots could have been taken. All that being said, the backstampings on the photos read “This paper manufactured by KODAK,” which indicates that these prints were processed sometime in the 1970s. The crispness, though, almost surely indicates they were printed from the original negatives. The photos measure 3 ½ x 3 ½ inches and present in beautiful condition. Near Mint to Mint condition.
