The offered four news service photos, and matching period newspaper pages, document four important moments in Elvis Presley's life. The first shows him boarding a plane in Frankfurt, Germany, as he heads for home to be discharged from the Army. The photo is dated “MAR 3 1960” on the reverse, the day after the plane took off. The next photo is dated May 1, 1967, and captures Elvis and his new bride Priscilla kissing at their wedding in Las Vegas, Nevada. The back stamping “MAY 2 1967” indicates it was published the day after the ceremony. The third photo shows Elvis and Priscilla as they leave the hospital on February 6, 1968, after the birth of their daughter, Lisa Marie. The back stamped date is “FEB 7 1968.” The last photo is dated October 9, 1973, and shows Priscilla and Elvis Presley as they leave the courthouse in Santa Monica, California after their divorce was finalized. Interestingly, the back stamped dates are October 11, 1973, shortly after the divorce, and August 16, 1977, the day Elvis died. Also included are three front pages from newspapers where the offered photos were featured including March 3, 1960, Wichita Beacon, May 2, 1967, The Gazette (Montreal, Canada); February 6, 1968 Memphis Press-Scimitar (laminated), and October 10, 1973 Memphis Press-Scimitar (page 31, laminated). The photos measure 8 x 11 inches (the Army photo is smaller), and they present with editorial markings and airbrushing especially the Army and divorce photos. Excellent condition overall.
