Offered are nine (9) color slides of Elvis on-stage and off stage during the filming of Elvis: That’s The Way It Is. In 1970 MGM made a documentary film that chronicled Elvis’ on-stage performances during his summer festival at the International Hotel in Las Vegas in August that year. The offered slides capture Elvis during these performances, as well as during the rehearsals, which are also captured in the film. The movie was Elvis’ first non-acting role since the beginning of his film career in 1956 and reveals the musician’s renewed focus on his live performances. The two-hour movie captured Elvis just as he was: no script, no sets, and no tricks, simply a raw Elvis. A brilliant new idea for fans to get a glimpse behind the scenes as this Hollywood star transitioned back to live performances. The MGM crew, directed by two-time Academy Award winner Denis Sanders, filmed Elvis’ Las Vegas performances on August 10, 11, 12 and 13, 1970. RCA released a soundtrack album in conjunction with the documentary movie and the concert film reached number 22 on the Variety Box Office Survey. Each 35mm slide measures 2 by 2 inches, and the group is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated (quoted here).
