Offered is an incredible 16 x 20 inch professional photo of Elvis Presley performing on stage on October 12, 1956, in Waco, Texas. The photo hung on the wall of the Waco, Texas home of Elvis' close friend Eddie Fadal. The photo was taken by professional studio and news photographer Jimmie Willis. Willis' studio embossed imprint is present in the lower right of the photo. Some of Willis' photographs of Elvis in the period have surfaced before, and in another lot in this auction there is are Willis photos included that he took backstage at this same show.

The photo was probably made specifically at the request of Eddie Fadal, and interestingly, it appears that the Fadal children, Janice and Dana, brought it to school for some type of show and tell! Written in pencil on the original cardboard backing in a youngsters hand it says "Janice Lyn Fadal and Dana Edward Fadal / 1961 May 20 / Second Grade / Miss Hooper / Dean-Highland School Waco, Texas." While Janice did confirm the Fadal siblings attended the school, and that Mrs. Hooper was her 2nd grade teacher, she couldn't recall the exact details of bringing the large photo to school. Regardless, the photo must have wowed her classmates!! The photo measures 16 x 20 inches and is framed to a size of 24 x 30 inches. The original photo has toned to an even deep amber/sepia, and the period frame that hung in the Fadal home presents with many scuffs and areas of paint loss, but is intact. Photo presents in Excellent condition.
