Prior to her tragic death in a 1967 car accident, actress Jayne Mansfield achieved stardom in film, theater, and television. While she was also a singer and nightclub entertainer, it was her tenior as an early Playboy Playmate that cemented her legend. She was a major Hollywood sex symbol during the 1950s and early 1960s while under contract at 20th Century Fox. She was also known for her well-publicized personal life and publicity stunts, such as "wardrobe malfunctions".
