Offered is a 1963 "MONO" copy of The Beatles LP Please Please Me signed on the back cover by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. John has signed vertically, and Paul has signed "Best Wishes Paul McCartney" across the top. Paul then proceeded to sign for both George and Ringo. This was fairly common practice in the period, when the boys were under unimaginable demand in terms of autographs. They were certainly willing signers, but by mid-1964, when this album was signed, they were the biggest band in the world. They had already taken the U.S. by storm, of course, and after extensive touring in the early part of the year, they embarked on a world tour that took them all over Europe, the Far East, Australia, New Zealand and back to the U.S. and Canada. Including the offered LP Please, Please Me, by mid-1964, The Beatles had released seven albums in the U.K., U.S. and Canada, AND they were about to release the film A Hard Day's Night. We can forgive George and Ringo for not being readily available to sign the offered LP! Paul took care of it with flying colors.

The offered album's matrix numbers and details of the sleeve indicate it is a fourth pressing from the latter half of 1963. The record itself is the black label with yellow "Parlophone" logo. The signed record is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles autograph expert Frank Caiazzo. His letter reads in part: "This letter serves to authenticate the signatures of the members John Lennon and Paul McCartney...These signatures date from mid-1964 and they are excellent examples from the period." The album itself presents with moderate wear, but the McCartney and Lennon signatures easily grade an 8-9. Excellent condition.
