Offered is a 1920's broadside advertising the Kansas City Monarchs baseball games. The center of the poster proclaims "Worlds Colored Champions" in a red pennant. In the background, above the panoramic style photograph of the team lined up, is a stadium panoramic photograph of the first game of the 1924 Negro League World Series, identified in white lettering as follows: "First Colored World Series, Opening Game at Philadelphia, October 3, 1924, Monarchs vs. Philadelphia, Attendance 18,500." The blank area would have been for writing in current game times. The broadside measures 16 1/2 x 11 inches and suffers from some staining from water damage, though the reds are still quite bright and bold. Excellent condition.
