While the check measures 3 x 8 inches, Lennon's signature spans massively across more than 6 inches of the surface! An absolute showpiece! The National Westminster Bank Limited check was written on September 5, 1977, in the amount of £702 payable to “Arthur Young McClelland Moores Co.” The check was written by John to transfer funds from MACLEN (Music) LTD (the company set up to handle the U.S. publishing of songs by Lennon and McCartney) to what was the Beatles' and Apple Corporation's accounting firm. Undoubtedly the check represents just a small bit of financial housekeeping. This is a wonderful, GIANT example of Lennon's flourishing signature on a Beatles-related check. The check presents with expected wear, stampings and punch holes from bank handling, (none of which affect John's signature) but with no additional wear. Near Mint condition. The check has been encapsulated by Beckett Authentic.
