This fascinating group of snapshots captures Elvis Presley as he is being transported from his helicopter (that he took from the Honolulu Airport) to the Hilton Hawaiian Village just days before he takes the stage for the first of three concerts at the International Convention Center Arena, culminating in his legendary and triumphant Elvis "Aloha from Hawaii" television broadcast. Colonel Parker called it the “first entertainment special to be broadcast live around the world.” Elvis’ “Aloha" concert was broadcast via satellite on January 14, 1973, from the Honolulu International Center, and it’s believed that over 1 billion fans viewed the concert worldwide. But before anyone saw the broadcast, the fans in these photos got a free preview! Each photo measures 3 ½ by 3 3/8 inches and are notated in pen on the reverse “1/9/73 Hilton Hawaiian Village” and “No Copies.” The photos suffer from just a bit of age-related toning and fading. Excellent to Mint condition overall.

Group of Five January 9, 1973, Photographs of Elvis Presley Arriving at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Prior to his “Aloha From Hawaii” Concert
