Offered is an Official National League Baseball acquired by Los Angeles Dodgers utility infielder Juan Castro during the final game at San Francisco's Candlestick Park on Thursday, September 30, 1999. The San Francisco Giants played there from 1960 until 1999. Los Angeles bested the Giants 9-4, and Dodger Raúl Mondesí hit the final home run in the park in the 2nd inning. During Candlestick Park's first 10 seasons, it was known for its windy conditions--the wind blew in from left-center and out toward right-center. When the park was expanded to accommodate the 49ers in 1971, it was thought that fully enclosing the park would cut down on the wind significantly. Instead, the wind swirled from all directions, and was as strong and cold as before! The ball shows signs of being prepped for MLB play and shows signs of use. The balls were specially created for the last three games held at the park, and the side panel reads "Tell It Goodbye / Giants 1960-1999 / Final Series / Giants vs. Dodgers / September 28-30, 1999." Excellent condition.
