The nearly full, 5 inch diameter reel of 8 MM film (roughly 200 feet of film!) represents approximately 13 minutes of Elvis Presley's 8:30 PM concert on June 23, 1974, at The Spectrum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Elvis is seen in his glorious "1974 American Eagle" jumpsuit, and by all accounts he delivered that night. With this much footage, the large reel is made up of an assemblage of several smaller reels, as they were shot, of 8 MM film. The footage was shot at an incredibly close vantage point, and the images of Elvis are incredibly clear, by amateur standards, with excellent color values and contrast. By this date in June 1974, Elvis was well into an 18-night, 25 show tour that would take him from Fort Worth, Texas to Cleveland, Philly and Niagara Falls, and eventually to Kansas City, Omaha and Salt Lake City, among other cities. These tours were whirlwinds of busses, planes and venues, but Elvis shined through all of it. In an interesting coincidence, we are offering a pair of Elvis' black leather boots in this auction that he had given to a Philadelphia police officer at this very show! Perhaps you could slip them on while you watch the footage of the show! The KODAK reel measures 5 inches in diameter, and it presents with no obvious distresses. Near Mint condition.
