Offered is an incredibly rare and early 1956 Hill and Range Sheet Music Royalty statement signed by Elvis Presley. Elvis has placed his LARGE and bold signature on the bottom of this typewritten statement on ledger paper provided by his manager Colonel Tom Parker. This is cdertainly one of the finest 1950's Elvis signatures we have ever seen. While the statement is not dated, the references to royalties on the song "I Was the One" and Elvis' self-titled debut LP indicated this is from the beginning of his time with RCA. "I Was the One" was on Elvis' first single released by RCA, his Sun re-releases notwithstanding. The song was the B-side of "Heartbreak Hotel." The song was recorded on January 10 and released only 17 days later on January 27, 1956. Furthermore, the LP Elvis Presley was released on March 23, 1956. These facts coupled with the extremely small amounts of royalty money on the ledger (these records and their sheet music sales would number in the MILLIONS) indicate this is a very early example. Of course, it's worth mentioning that Colonel Parker's cut was 25%, somewhat tame based on where his percentage would grow to by later in Elvis' career. The ledger page measures 8 1/2 x 11 inches and is encapsulated by PSA/DNA. Immaculate MINT condition with a huge Elvis Signature.
