Based on the 1941 novel by James M. Cain, 1945's Mildred Pierce was Crawford's first starring film for Warner Bros. after leaving Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and won her the Academy Award for Best Actress. The film noir crime drama was directed by Michael Curtiz (Casablanca and list of other classic films as long as your arm!) and co-starred Jack Carson and Zachary Scott. The insert offered here is a prototypical example of the poster style employed for the film noir movies of the period--the deep color palette, dramatic photography and illuring headlines: "The Kind of Woman most men want--BUT SHOULDN'T HAVE! That's...Mildred Pierce." Classic. The poster measures 14 x 36 inches and presents with some chipping and paper loss in the bottom area of the artwork and moderate edge wear with tears and some paper loss. Excellent condition.
