The classically elegant "Pamela Dennis Collection" black 100% silk floor length cocktail dress came from the personal wardrobe of Whitney Houston, and it was acquired at the now infamous 2007 auction of a New Jersey storage facility full of her personal belongings. The luxuriously simple Pamela Dennis designed dress would have perfectly complimented Houston's lithe figure as it draped down toward the floor.

Pamela Dennis rose to prominence in the fashion world in the 1990s when celebrities started to regularly to be seen in her creations--one of her most talked about designs was Geena Davis' tansparent gown at the 2000 Emmy Awards. Her name was repeatedly on the lips of stars walking the red carpets of events, premieres and award shows. Her brand and style was regularly associated with the most beautiful and glamourous names in entertainment, inlcuding, of course, Whitney Houston, but also Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson, Hallen Berry and Cindy Crawford, to name just a few. The offered gown most-likely hails from the late-1990s, as it has been reported that most of the clothing and other personal items were stored at the facility in question after Whitney Houston's 1999 "My Love is Your World" concert.

Accompanying the dress are copies of the original owner's paid receipt for entering the auction (they charge $100 entry fee!), held on January 7, 2007, at the New Jersey storage facility where Houston's compnay, Nippy, Inc., had failed to pay a long-outstanding debt. The event was run by A.J. Willner Auctions, and a copy of their original terms and conditions and lot listing is also included. The dress offered here is listed as "Lot 248: Pamela Dennis Black Cocktail Dress." Though it's a somewhat unfortunate circumstance, in this case, that provides the ironclad provenance that the dress came from Whitney Houston's personal wardrobe, it does affords a collector the rare opportunity to acquire something almost directly from the source. Whitney's sense of her own style converged perfectly with this silk cocktail number, and she must have been a sight to behold as it hung softly from her broad shoulders. The dress has the original "Pamela Dennis Collection" tagging on the interior, as well as the size "8" tagging and care label. While the dress shows signs of being worn, it presents with no damage. Near Mint condition
