The offered 14k gold ring with 7 diamonds was owned by Elvis Presley, and he very likely wore it on stage extensively during his 1974 Fall concert tour. When Elvis took a shine to a particular ring style, it was common that he would buy several examples of similiar rings, and he certainly owned multiples of this one, with slight variations. That being said, even a cursory glance at the photographic record of Elvis' September 27-October 9, 1974, tour indicates that this style of ring can be seen on his right hand middle finger while performing (or backstage) in several different jumpsuits in the following cities:

  • South Bend, Indiana, October 1, 1974, Elvis wearing his "Dragon" jumpsuit;
  • St. Paul, Minnesota, October 2, 1974, Elvis wearing his "Peacock" jumpsuit;
  • Detroit, Michigan, October 4, 1974, Elvis wearing his "Dragon" jumpsuit;
  • Indianapolis, Indiana, October 5, 1974, Elvis wearing his "Mad Tiger" jumpsuit; and
  • Dayton, Ohio, October 6, 1974, Elvis wearing his "Blue Swirl" jumpsuit.

In the 1990s, the ring was part of an exhibit of Elvis' belongings to celebrate the Elvis Presley Enterprises licensed cache of his stamp. The accompanying letter from Chris Davidson of EP Archives details the exhibit and his subsequent acquisition of the ring from the gentleman responsible for its creation. It states:

This cocktail ring was purchased and worn by entertainer, Elvis Presley. It was part of an Elvis Presley artifact display organized to promote the first EPE licensed cachet of the Elvis stamp by the US Postal Service. The "Official First Day of Issue" cachet deputed on January 8, 1993. I met and purchased the entier Elvis Presley exhibit from Ron Anderson of Jack London Graphics the following summer in 1994. Elvis was photographed wearing this ring during several performances in both The Dragon and Tiger jumpsuits. The ring along with the rest of the items from Elvis Presley Archives Collection was featured in the 1994 magazine, Elvis: An American Legend, on pages 42-47. The EP Archives collection eventually became the beginning of the Las Vegas based Elvis-A-Rama Museum founded in 1999.

Also accompanying is a copy of the "Letter of Verification" from Ron Anderson and Jim Hannaford detailing the items sold to Chris Davidson. The letter, dated August 2, 1994, lists the "Elvis' 1975 multi diamond cocktail ring" as part of the inventory. Included as well are copies of the 1994 Elvis: An American Legend magazine, in which the ring was featured, and an original 1993 First Day Cover of the Elvis Stamp.

The size 9 1/2 ring weighs 7.51 grams, with each of the 7 diamonds measuring 4 mm across. Among the various maker markings on the interior of the band are "MW3X" and  "14K." The ring present with visible signs of being worn extensively but has sustained no damage to the mountings or gold. Near Mint condition.
