Offered is a prescription pill bottle that belonged to Elvis Presley. The bottle contained the drug "Vistaril," as prescribed by Elvis' 1970's Las Vegas physician Dr. Elias Ghanem. When in Las Vegas, Elvis would often stay at the Ghanem home in the gated community of The Las Vegas Country Club. Elvis was very generous with Dr. Ghanem, bestowing many gifts upon him during their time together. The offered bottle was left at the Ghanem residence during one of Elvis' last visits there.

The label on the bottle shows "Dr. Ghanem" as the prescribing physician. The label, from the "Landmark Pharmacy" in Las Vegas, reads "Elvis Presley 12-6-76 / Take one(1) capsule as directed. / Vistaril 100mg: 100 / Exp: Jan 1980." Vistaril is a brand name of the drug hydroxine, an antihistamine for treating allergic reactions, but it can also be employed for relief of anxiety or to help a patient feel relaxed or sleepy prior to surgery.

The accompanying copy of a letter signed by Judy Ghanem from the original sale of a number of prescription bottles reads "This collection of Elvis Presley's pill bottles were left at the home of Dr. Elias Ghanem during the Elvis Presley's visits to the Ghanem's home in the mid to late 1970's." Somewhat interestingly, the Vistaril is the only one of the 15 bottles listed that was prescribed by Dr. Ghanem. The others were from prescriptions written by Elvis' physicians Dr. Nichopoulos (Memphis), Dr. Kaplan (Palm Springs), Dr. Scott (Memphis), and Dr. Cantor (Hollywood). The bottle measures 3 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches in diameter and presents with expected light wear. Near Mint condition.
