As the term "PIG" became more frequently used to describe police in the 20th century, law enforcement decided to embrace the moniker and made it an acronym to stand for “Pride, Integrity, Guts”: attributes associated with the tough and honest men in the police force. So popular was this transformed symbol that tokens such as the offered pin were created. The gold-toned pin with colored enameled interior of a pink pig in a police uniform with the words of the acronym encircling the center image was once owned by Elvis Presley.

The accompanying letter, signed by Jimmy Velvet, President of the Elvis Presley Museum, reads: "This Elvis personal Lapal Pin worn by him on many photos that says 'PLG' (Pride, Integrity, Guts) from the police department, was part of the Elvis Presley Museum/Jimmy Velvet, and is now in Fern Ltd's ownership. Sworn to this date, December 7, 1999." Fern Limited was a European company that presented Elvis Presley exhibits in several countries starting in the 1990s.

Elvis maintained a collection of badges, firearms and all things law enforcement as was his passion, and so it’s no surprise that this amusing pin was at one time part of that. The pin measures 3/4 inch in diameter and presents with moderate to heavy wear. The post on the reverse is bent over and the clasp is missing. Ther is some mild oxidation on the reverse. Very Good condition.
