Offered is 1969 RCA Custom Records single-sided 33 1/3 RPM acetate with six songs recorded for Elvis Presley's album From Elvis in Memphis. After years of recording only film soundtracks, Elvis began to segue back into non-film-related recordings with his 1968 Christmas television special soundtrack, also known as his "'68 Comeback Special." After this success, Elvis recorded From Elvis in Memphis, his 10th studio album. Released in June of 1969, the 12 tracks were recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis in January and February 1969. Elvis used the American Sound Studio’s house band, known as the Memphis Boys, to give the album’s sound a country soul flare. The album reached the thirteenth spot on the Billboard charts and number two on the country charts, while the single “In the Ghetto” reached number three on the Billboard charts.

The offered acetate's label reads “Elvis Presley / 33 1/3 / Stereo / Side No. 2” and two handwritten notations with one across the top of the label indicating “Final” and the other down the side in blue ink lists the songs, albeit with some misspelled and truncated titles, “Power of My Love / Gentle on My Mind / After Loving You / Gravel Road / Any Day Now / Getto." The songs are in the order they would appear on the final released LP. The acetate measures 12 inches in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated. The acetate is in Excellent condition overall with only very minor scratching to playing surface side.
